Bladder snail

The ultimate survivor snail. Tiny and almost impossible to eradicate once introduced. Often arrives on plants as eggs. Actually very useful as algae cleaners and fish food. Indicator species for overfeeding when numbers explode rapidly.

Algae, decaying plant matter, leftover fish food and bacterial film. Eats almost anything organic in the tank.

Excellent indicator of water quality and feeding levels. Population explosion means you are overfeeding or have excess nutrients.

Extremely prolific hermaphrodite that can self-fertilise. Very difficult to control population without predators. Assassin snails, pea puffers or loaches are the best control methods.
