Apistogramma agassizii

One of the most popular and widely kept Apistogramma species. Males show spectacular yellow and blue finnage with a striking tail pattern that varies by regional form. Needs soft slightly acidic water and cave hiding spots.

Small pellets, frozen bloodworm, brine shrimp and live food. High protein foods for best colour and condition.

Cave spawner. Female guards eggs and fry very aggressively. Remove male after spawning to protect female and fry.
