Excellent algae cleaner that stays manageable in size unlike common plecos which can reach 50cm. Males grow impressive bristles on the face. Provide driftwood for them to rasp on daily.

Algae wafers, blanched vegetables like zucchini, driftwood for rasping. Mainly herbivore diet with some protein.

Cave spawner. Male guards eggs and fans them until hatching. Fry cling to surfaces eating algae from day one.
