Males turn brilliant cherry red when in peak condition or preparing to breed. Peaceful and active schooling fish. Hardy fish that adapts to a wide range of water conditions making it ideal for beginners.

Flakes, micro pellets, frozen daphnia. Not fussy about food at all. Feed twice daily for best colour in males.

Egg scatterers. Lay eggs in fine leaved plants. Remove parents to protect eggs from being consumed immediately.
